Survivors Abreast has been visibly active in the community since he team began in 1999. For example, it organized Pink Ribbon Balls for three consecutive years in 2000, 2001 and 2002, raising close to $90,000 for the Breast Assessment Centre. As hosts of the local dragon boat festival year since 2001, the team is busy supporting the festival committee to ensure a successful community event each year.
